Cardiac Rehab - Ochsner Rush Health

Cardiac Rehab

The Cardiac Rehab Department is located in the Ochsner Rush Ambulatory Care Center and operates Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Services are provided by referral only.

Patients who have heart problems, such as heart failure, a heart attack, or have undergone heart surgery, may benefit from cardiac rehabilitation. This medically supervised program allows patients to exercise safely and receive the education and support they need to strengthen their heart and reduce their risk for additional heart problems.

Cardiac Rehab is recommended for patients who have experienced one or more of the following:

  • A heart attack in the last 12 months
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery
  • Current stable angina (chest pain)
  • A heart valve repair or replacement
  • A coronary angioplasty (a medical procedure used to open a blocked artery) or coronary stenting (a procedure used to keep an artery open)
  • A heart or heart-lung transplant
  • Stable chronic heart failure
