UNION, MS – Laird Hospital in Union, Mississippi has received the 2018 Outstanding Mississippi Small Rural Hospital Award from the Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA).
“It is such an honor to receive this award from MHA,” said Tommy Bartlett, Administrator of Laird Hospital. “Our medical staff and employees work hard every day to provide the best possible care for our patients and are continuously looking to expand our services to meet the needs of the residents in Neshoba and Newton counties. It is very encouraging to know that our dedication and hard work is being recognized, and I couldn’t be more proud of my staff and the team at Laird Hospital.”
Each year, MHA’s Outstanding Mississippi Small Rural Hospital Award recognizes a rural hospital in the state with less than 100 beds that have improved access to health care or has launched innovative programs in their communities. Three criteria are considered:
What has the hospital done to contribute to rural health in ways that go above and beyond?
How have they demonstrated leadership and vision for rural health?
What impact has their efforts had on rural health in their community?
“We’re especially proud of this year’s winner,” said Timothy Moore, President and CEO of MHA. “Over the past 10 years, Laird has made tremendous strides in advancing senior care options in Union and Mississippi, and we’re excited to see what they do in the future.”
A congratulatory video was created to recognize all of the staff at the hospital for their hard work. The video was shown at a special award presentation that was held in the Laird Hospital Cafeteria on September 19, 2018.
