Located in Meridian, our specially trained team offers 24/7 obstetrics care from the 16th week of pregnancy to six weeks postpartum.

Your OB/GYN is your first resource for obstetric care. Sometimes, however, your OB/GYN isn’t available. During these times and when facing a medical emergency, turn to the Ochsner Rush Obstetrics Emergency Department.

Unlike a regular emergency department, the Ochsner Rush Obstetrics Emergency Department is staffed by obstetric experts. Every team member focuses only on issues surrounding pregnancy, enabling us to detect, diagnose and treat any pregnancy-related issue that affects you.
Heading up this team of obstetric specialists are our OB hospitalists, who specializes in hospital-based obstetrics care and provides emergency department coverage. Other team members who may lend a hand in your obstetrics emergency include:
Together, this team gets to the bottom of your OB emergency. They talk through your symptoms and perform appropriate tests to diagnose your issue. Once they have a diagnosis, your team provides or prescribes treatment.
For cases that require additional expertise, you don’t have to go far. We transfer you to other care units where Ochsner specialists lead you toward good health.
